FROM ABSTRACT TO MODERN This summer, the owner, founder and namesake of Peter Blake Gallery, one of Orange County’s longest running galleries, is trying something completely different. He’s presenting recent finds in design and handmade furniture from Europe, India, Brazil, the U.S. and elsewhere. Focusing on midcentury modernism, he’s filling his contemporary art gallery with tables, chairs, beds, a turntable and even a 1967 Heckflosse Mercedes-Benz. Merging art and furniture, the exhibition, “The Tendency of the Moment: International Design from Bauhaus to Heckflosse,” opens in late June and runs through August.
